Happy Deepavali !!!

Its the End of the year coming...

The streets were all lit up with lighting and colorful banners. People busy shopping and spring cleaning to welcome a new beginning...

Even though the tidings were not all glad, as the world is being hit by natural disasters and terrorism.

But at the small corner of the Eastern Singapore... A warmth tinge of kampong spirit was still being felt...

It's the 1st of Nov... *argh its Nov already?!?!?*

DING DONG

The door bell rang... For God sake its holiday... Who could that be?

Well, the door open. My Indian neighbor was smiling from ear to ear, pushes a bag of new year goodies at us.

Hmmmm.... You may wonder what's with that english? Ha ha... coz I wasn't the one that opened the door... I was still in bed, my sis did.

But nevertheless, the gesture was touching.
I really think that in Singapore, we do celebrate more festivals than else where due the different cultures that blend into a unique flavor here...

Despite the insincerity of the concrete jungle, there's always an oasis somewhere- sometimes you don't need to look far for it, coz its within you to start it.

Its really enjoyable, caring and sharing is the core of a great community. Seeing different people from different culture coming together and celebrate with one another is really wonderful.

Its a small World after all... A smaller Singapore...

We are not talking about physical size though but the population density- how close we really are...

Packed like sadines in cans- call HDB blocks. Can the sadines be happy??? That depends on you and me!

Chinese got a good saying, “遠親不如近鄰!” Thats very true for us!
To translate,"Neighbors are better than relatives, for they are closer to you when times of trouble." ;-)
