Congratulations to Mr & Mrs James Phang!!!

My good colleague and brother Mr James Phang finally tied the knot with his lovely wife Heather Ong on the 23 April 2006.

Heart-felt joy for him, seeing that he is so happy despite running a fever on that day itself...

Here's an account of the day's event =)

0800

Brothers gathers at James house.

0845

Leave for the bride's house(located just across the road). James called to tell them(bride) that the timing been delayed for another hour(ruse).

0900(Highlight of the day!)

Reach at the bride's place and went to 20th floor. The bride stays on the 19th floor... And we sent two hamper "delivery guys" Chua and Kenneth. Chua's job is to make them open the door and Kenneth's job is keep that door open wide. And the ruse work very well as a relative came late and they have to open the door anyway... And we make good the situation and manage to get in without much sabo!

0915

Safely inside the house. But still kana sabo... The brothers were made to form a Choir and sing love song outside the bride's bedroom door. Second tier of defence ?!?!?!?!? James was to pay a ang bao (din manage to chiam), for everything to be over. I am still quite skeptical about this part of the wedding as I know its not really a chinese tradition. Nevertheless, James most eagerly took the bride's hand and kiss her on her cheeks...

0955

Left the bride's place to bring the bride to Jame's place.

1015

Reach James place and they have the tea ceremony for the newly wed to pay respect to the elders in the family and ofcourse their last ang bao(have give angbao from here on)Have a small buffet spread.

1045

Leave James place again... Go to bride's house, this time for the newly wed to pay respect to the bride's elderly. Being a big family this took quite a while. Another spread of buffet... Home sweet home.

P.S.: Chinese is chinese.. We belive in auspicious number for the 4D. Me kana $40 bucks as the bride's car number came out jumbled in the starters- Lucky got buy i-bet. :p Just nice to cover the cab fare for that day!
